4 Ways to Liven Up Your Home Décor with Fuchsia

Want to liven up your home décor in a hurry? Add the color fuchsia to the mix! This bold purplish-pink shade is a terrific way to add a vibrant expression of your individual style to your home, or simply to provide a bold accent to an otherwise serene space.

Fuchsia also pairs well with Pantone’s 2017 color of the year: Greenery. Since the yellow-green shade is nature’s neutral, it pairs well with many color combinations including brights, pastels, metallic and deeper shades like Pantone’s Fandango – which is a version of fuchsia.

Here are a few ways you can add a pop of fuchsia to your home that won’t put a big dent in your decorating budget.

Rugs – Brighten up a modern study or living room with a bold floor covering in fuchsia, such as this Turkish Istanbul rug. Just make sure the rest of the furniture in the room is composed of neutral shades like white, brown or black so they give the eye a place to rest.

Furniture – Another daring way to add fuchsia to your home is with select pieces of furniture. Balance is the order of the day, though. Remember to keep the rest of the room neutral so the fuchsia chair, table or sofa becomes the focal point of the room. If you want to add color, but not be too bold, you can choose pieces that are a darker shade of fuchsia, like this chair from Target.

Accessories – Pillows, lamps or bookends are another great way to add small doses of fuchsia to any room, such as a den, patio or bedroom. Etsy is a great resource for finding items like these pillows.

Wall Coverings – If you really want to go wild with fuchsia and make a grand statement, you can paint a wall or cover an entire room in purplish-pink wallpaper. Or you can simply add some fuchsia curtains, since they can be easily replaced when you want to freshen up the room’s décor in the future.
